| Such is the state of my brother, who's in town this holiday season from back east. (Connecticut, to be exact)
Not only has he watched both the black-and-white original and the 1970's remake with Jeff Bridges and Jessica Lange in recent weeks, but he's also reading "Son of Kong" -- a pot-boiler-sounding piece of popular fiction (think airport reading material here) in which excavators at the Empire State Building find DNA remains of the late Kong and replicate it a la "Jurassic Park."
But wait! There's more...
1. On the marquee outside the Neptune Theater, it reads: "Action Jackson's King Kong, Kongress Approved." 2. During my viewing of the film last week with Michael and Megan, we laughed and squirmed during the infamous "insect scene" where these giant worms attacked our heroes. Think uncircumcised penises with teeth. Yikes! |
